As a matter of professionalism we always take time to test our vehicle in real working conditions before the season starts. It starts with the obvious service and trip to Mercedes dealership in Chambery for a routine service check over. A new set of snow tyres are fitted before every season.  Before that we even spend hours reading and researching the annual reviews for the “Best Snow Tyres for next season”.  For us this means choosing tyres that offer optimum grip in snow and ice, are as quiet as possible but also tyres that offer good mileage wear rate. Once chosen and fitted we take a leisurely ride out in the first of the winter conditions. Primarily to find out how the tyres behave on some icy and snow covered roads, testing in real conditions. We verify the tyre performance and generally get a feel for how the vehicle handles in the winter conditions. Basically re-acclimatise our driving from the summer and autumn dry roads to horrible winter snow, slush and ice.
