SlopeStyle airport transfers to Champagny-en-Vanoise.  Situated on the sunny southern side of La Plagne sitting at an altitude of 1250m. The village is set around the original 17th Century Baroque church providing easy access to the shops and immediately close by the gondola ski lift uplifting to the larger resort of la Plagne offering ski altitudes from 2000m to 3000m. The resort of Champagny-en-Vanoise, or Champagny le Haut at an altitude of 1450m, is nestled in the valley that is entrance to the Vanoise National Park which was created in 1963. It is the oldest National Park in France and offers some spectacular views, also known for its beautiful cross-country skiing areas.

The Savoie commune of Champagny-en-Vanoise covers an area of 84.96 km² with a local population just over 600 people.

This south facing quaint resort offers access to one of the largest ski domains in the world, Paradiski, offering some 425 km of ski slopes and 225 km just in the La Plagne domain alone, which has 128 ski runs and 94 lifts.  Altitudes range from between 1250m to 3250m and since  2003 the resorts of la Plagne, Peisey-Vallandry and Les Arcs have been linked by the amazing cable car “Vanoise Express” which can carry a total of 200 persons in its two level double cabins, being the largest cable car in the world at present.

The cable car departs from  Plan-Peisey, municipality of Peisey-Nancroix at 1612 m of elevation and arrives at 1548m of elevation upstream to Montchavin, municipality of Bellentre; see this interesting video link
