After a relatively short motorway (Autoroute) journey from Geneva airport, the route takes you through the Savoie town of Annecy then following a scenic route (during daylight) around the beautiful lake, Lac d’Annecy providing a magnificent view with a backdrop of mountains towering above the lake.  Then heading on to Albertville, the former host town to the 1992 Winter Olympics, taking the route national N90 towards Moutiers, where often the traffic slows dramatically as this is the main route into the Tarentaise and Three Valley regions. On passing Moutiers the route then begins the climb up the mountain road (D915) to the Courchevel resort villages which normally takes around 30 minutes.
