The uniformed chauffeur will meet and greet you at the airport terminal arrivals gate. A confirmation text will be sent prior to your scheduled arrival. The text will include the mobile telephone number of the driver to enable direct contact if necessary.
The chauffeur will be ready waiting to assist you at the arrivals hall. They will be identifiable by holding an iPad with the client’s name displayed or a SlopeStyle Transfers welcome board. The parking area is immediately opposite the terminal door entrance, with just a 2 minute walk to the transfer vehicle and on your way to your chosen destination.
About Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc Airport
The airport dates back to 1934 and is now operated by VINCI Airports since 2013. During WWII it served as a military airstrip.
In 1968 the first flights began operating starting with commercial routes between Chambery and Lyon Born airport by the operator Air Alpes.
The airport served the Winter Olympics in 1992 that was based from the Savoie town of Albertville. In 2001 the first Boeing 757 landed at the airport, operated by the Dutch airline Transavia.
The airport is located at the end of Lac du Bourget, the largest lake in France. Situated between the Savoie towns of Chambéry and Aix Les Bains.
The airport is ideally located at the entrance to the main valley heading into the French Alpes, known as the ‘Combe de Savoie’, referred to as the gateway to the Tarentaise ski resorts of the French Alps.
In 2016 the main terminal was subject to a total renovation with the intent to improve passengers satisfaction and general airport experience.
The airport has become more popular in recent years for those heading to the French alps for the ski season. During 2017, 186,376 passengers passed through the airport which offers 11 scheduled European flights and ski charter flights operated by a total of 20 english, Scandinavian and Russian tour-operators.
